Admission and Student Transfer Regulations
Certificates Accepted bythe Institute:
- General secondary Education Certificate (both science and arts streams) and its equivalent from Arab and foreign certificates.
- Al-Azhar Secondary Certificate (both science and arts streams).
- Commercial Secondary Diploma (3 – 5 years System).
- Industrial Secondary Diploma (3 – 5 years System).
- Diploma of Secondary Technical Schools for Management and Services.
- Diploma oftechnical commercial institutes.
- Diploma oftechnical industrial institutes.
- Diploma of Administrationand Secretarial Institutes.
- Students holding a diploma fromtechnical commercial institutes (Information Systems division – Computer Science) are admittedto the second year of the Management Information Systems program only,provided they complete the following additional courses:principles of public administration – basics of structural programming – and the insurance sectionfrom the mathematics and insurance course.
Students holding a diploma fromAdministration and secretarial institutes (Information Systems Division)are accepted as follows:
- Those with a grade of “Pass” (minimum 60%) are admitted to the second year.
- Those with a grade of “Good” may be admitted to the third year.
Coordination Office
A student wishing to enroll in the institute through the Coordination Office must select the institute (Higher Institute for Computer Science and Information Systems – First Settlement) as their first choice on the Electronic Coordination Website, using the designated code (574/6), and registering through the electronic coordination system with the secret code found on their qualification certificate and their seat number.
Required Admission Documents
- Original academic qualificationcertificate.
- Original birth certificate.
Direct Application by Submitting all Required Documents Directly to the Institute
A student who obtained a qualification (General Secondary Certificate- 3-yeartechnical diploma – 5-yeartechnical diploma – upper-intermediate institutediploma) in the previous academic yearis entitled to apply to the Student Affairs Office located at the institute directly,provided that he meets the minimum admission requirements set for the previous year. Such students will be admitted under the ‘one-time opportunity’ category.
Students dismissed from other institutes and universitiesmay be accepted under the following conditions:
- The student must have exhausted the number of allowed failures and will be admitted as a new applicant.
- The student must change the major they were previously enrolled in before dismissal, in the case of transferring from an institute equivalent to ours.
- The student must not have been previously dismissed from two different institutions.
- A student may be enrolled as a new applicant if the dismissal occurred in the same academic year. If one year has passed since the dismissal, the student may be admitted under the “one-time opportunity” category. If more than one year has passed since dismissal, the student is not eligible for admission.It is required to meet the minimum requirements set for the institute in either the year of qualification or the year of dismissal, whichever is more favorable to the student, in accordance with military service regulations.
Required Admission Documents
Transfers
Students transferred from equivalentinstitutes: It means that the student studied the sameacademicsubjects at the previousinstitute.
- A studentstatement of status from the institute the student is transferring fromaddressed to the Higher Institute of Computers and Management Information Systems in the First Settlement.
- A copy of the academic qualification.
- A copy of the birth certificate.
- 6 personal photos (4 × 6 cm).
- A statement of marks and grades from theprevious institute.
- The student is considered to remain for repetition for the same courses that he failed in the previous institute.
- After these steps, the institute will seekapproval from the Ministry of Higher Education for the transfer request.
Students transferring from Non-Equivalentinstitutes: The procedures are carried out through the institute.This means thatthat the student did not study the same academicsubjects at the institute.
- A student statement of status from the institute the student is transferring from addressed to the Higher Institute of Computers and Management Information Systems in the First Settlement.
- A copy of the academic qualification.
- A copy of the birth certificate.
- 1 personal photo (4 × 6 cm).
- Submission of a declaration as a newly admitted student.
International Students (first you must apply to the institute and reserve a place)
The General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students is one of the general administrationswithin the culturalaffairs and missions sector of the Ministry of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Its address is (2 DareehSaad Zaaloul Street, off Kasr Al-Aini Street, in front of Saad Zaghloul metro station). This administrationis concerned with nominating international students for admission to various universities and institutes.
The student mustsubmit his papers to obtain approval from the International Studentsadministration.A representative can accompany the student to assist and guide them through the process at the relevant office.
Admission Rules and Requirementsfor International Students Holdingthe Egyptian Secondary Certificate:
The General Administration for Admission and Grants of International Studentsnominates students for admission to the Institute.
Admission Requirements:
- Obtaining the Egyptian General Secondary Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Passing the required qualifying subjects.
- Meeting the minimum admission score required by the institute.
Where to Submit Documents:
The student submits his academic documents to his embassy in Cairo or the Office of Arab Affairs and his address is (4 Al-Tayaran Street, off Al-Khalifa Al-Mamoun Street, Manshiyet Al-Bakri (Heliopolis – Cairo) no later than the end of September of each year.
Categories whose applications are accepted through the of Arab AffairsOffice:
- Students who obtained the General Secondary Certificatefrom Egypt.
- Students who obtained an equivalent to the General Secondary certificate from abroad, provided that their mother is Egyptian.
Required Admission Documents
- The equivalent secondary certificate must beauthenticatedand certified by the embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the country where the certificate was obtained, or bythe embassy of the country from which he obtained the certificate in Cairo.Students who have obtained the Egyptian General Secondary Certificate must submit the original success statement (white form).
- Egyptian birth certificate or an extract thereof.
- 6 recent personal photos (4 × 6 cm).
Completing the following documents(which are included in an envelope obtained from the administration or embassy in Cairo):
· Application form (Form 555- Coordination).
- Preliminarynomination card.
- Information form (in 3 copies).
- Declaration by the student and guardian.
Note: The specialization (major) must be selected according to the minimum score determined by the coordination system.
How To AuthenticateCertificates:
Authentication of certificates means obtaining official approval of the certificate, which must first be done by the issuing authority, then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the respective country, and finally by the Egyptian embassy in that countryandthe Egyptian Cultural Counselor for countriesin the Americas, Russia, and Eastern Europe.Alternatively, certificates can be authenticatedby the embassy of the country from which the certificate was obtained located in the Arab Republic of Egypt, then by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Note: Certificates that are not authenticatedor that are not certified by the embassies of the Arab Republic of Egypt abroad or the Egyptian Foreign Ministry will not be accepted.
Rules for Internationalstudents from the brotherly countries of Kuwait:
- The application must be made through the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait and follow the steps below:
- The student must goat the specified datesdetermined by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait, to the ministry itself with the required documents to apply.
Required documents for application
- Original certificate of qualification or copy (authenticated by the Egyptian Consulate in Kuwait and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait).
- The original birth certificate and a certifiedcopy authenticated by the same two previous authorities.
- A copy of the passport.
- 12 recent personal photos of the student.
- If the student is employed:
He must submit, along with the above documents,a letter from the Civil Service Bureau stating his employer. This letter must be addressed by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait.
- If the student is not employed:
- A security deposit determined by the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait must be paid.
- The Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait will forwardstudent’s papers to the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Cairo, which in turn sends them to the General Administration for Admission and Grantingof International Students in Cairo.This administrationis responsible for examining the papers and determining whetherthe student meets the required conditions. (note: acceptance or rejectionis determined solelyby this administration, not by the institute).
NoteThe student must pay what is called an Outdated Qualification Penaltyat the International Students department.This amount is a fine paid only by the holders of academic qualifications in previous years.The amount is determined according to the number of years, through the expatriate department.
After the files have been examined and the students have been granted admission to the institutes specified in the desire, the student receives (by himself or through the embassy in Cairo) the nomination card with his name registered in it, the institute in which he was accepted and the academic year in which he is nominated.
- The student brings this card and goes to the institute to pay the expenses and fill out the application form.
- After payment is made, the student can receive the institute’s card.
- The student can purchase the books from the library of the Institute.
Personal application directly at the Expatriates Department: The student goes on the specified dates to the General Administration for the admission and scholarship of international students in Cairo.
- The administration reviews these papers and determines the student’s acceptance or non-acceptance and then gives him the nomination card in case his file is accepted to go with it.
- The student submits the nomination card to the institute to pay the expenses and fill out the enrollment form.
• The student pays the required fees and receives the institute card.
