Crisis And Risk Management Unit
The idea of creating the unit:
Protecting the Institute’s entire facilities, including lecture halls, libraries, and laboratories, as well as all the contents of those facilities, including scientific and laboratory equipment, books, research, documents, and various tools.
Vision:
Setting the institute to be able to protect humans and environmental elements from risks.
Mission:
Improving and maintaining human health and environmental quality within the Institute through preparing, developing and implementing prevention plans and programs. During its work, the unit adheres to the following values and principles: transparency in dealings, teamwork, and adherence to the principles of environmental ethics and behavior.
General Goals:
- Maintaining the safety and security of individuals, buildings and property.
- Achieving safety and security in all institute units.
- Occupational Safety and Health Committee
- Preparing protection plans for the institute’s facilities.
- Develop emergency and evacuation plans.
- Preparing technical studies related to the implementation of conditions and application of specifications contained in civil defense regulations for all activities and facilities.
- Technical investigation into accidents for the purpose of detecting and avoiding deficiencies in safety aspects.
- Inspection of protection and fire-fighting systems in facilities to ensure that they comply with specifications and that they operate with the required efficiency, and that those who work on them in facilities are fully aware and knowledgeable of their locations and method of operation.
Internal Security Committee:
- Managing all safety and security operations at the institute, working to prevent accidents, addressing them when they occur, and mitigating the escalation of their consequences.
- Monitoring the entrances and exits of the institute and its other facilities and verifying people’s identities if necessary.
- Preparing guard shifts on working days, holidays and vacations.
- Guarding and maintaining buildings to prevent them from being exposed to acts of vandalism or theft of their contents.
- Verifying the identities and permits of people and monitoring the removal of furniture and devices in coordination with the competent authority.
- Taking the necessary measures to prevent and treat accidents and avoid further damage.
- Carrying out all safety-related tasks and fire-fighting activities and ensuring that their requirements are met in the institute’s facilities.
- Ensure the validity of alarm devices in coordination with the concerned authority.
- Ensure the validity of fire extinguishers.
- Cooperation with the Institute’s Civil Defense Unit.
Development, Awareness andMedia Committee:
- Holding training courses.
- Giving educational and guidance lectures on safety aspects and requirements.
- Cooperating with relevant committees and institutions inside and outside the institute
- Working on spreading awareness of safety and security matters.
- Working on developing the efficiency of the unit’s staff through training in coordination with the competent authorities.
