Academic Guidance:
The academic advisor is a faculty member chosen by the Institute’s Board of Directors after the head of the educational guidance unit nominates him to guide the student and help him resolve problems that may arise during his studies;the academic advisor’s opinion is advisory.
Objectives of academic guidance
Providing the necessary support to the student during his academic career in a way that achieves the flow of the study plan and the completion of the requirements of the study plan for the program in which the student is enrolled within the prescribed time period.
Supervising and following up on the implementation of academic guidance procedures and instructions in the Institute.
Communicating the importance of guidance and its role in creating the academic university climate, and explaining the study plan and its syllabus.
Providing career guidance to the student during and after his educational career in a way that helps him find job opportunities that suit his specialization and social and financial status.
Providing material support, if possible, and non-material support to students during their educational career at the Institute.
The duties of the academic advisor are as follows:
Each academic advisor supervises a group of students.
Helping the student achieve the required skills and educational outcomes targeted in the graduates of each program.
Providing advice and assistance in finding and reaching a solution to the problems and difficulties they face inside or outside the campus by introducing
hem to university traditions and regulations, which directly or indirectly affect their academic performance.
Supervising and monitoring students choices, with no obligationsfrom his side. Providing guidance and direction on what suits them and what they need, not to mention intervening with assistance and advice when needed, without waiting for students request for help.
Developing a study plan for the students within their capabilities.
Clarifying the student’s progress against the study plan through a specialization card for each student, which records all their data and the results they achieve
Helping the student overcome any difficulties or problems he encounters in his studies by strengthening his relationship with the faculty members.
